Who Am I?
My name is Michael Modon, and I am a senior at The University of Akron.  I am a graduate of Revere High School in 2006.    I will be graduating in May 2010 with dual degrees in Finance and Economics, and have achieved a minor in Spain by studying abroad in Spain the summer after my sophomore year.  I have been quite involved in university programs since coming to AkronThis year, I have become an active security analyst with the Student Managed Investment Fund.  Additionally, last year I was President of Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE).  I am a member of Honors Business Group, Financial Management Association, Economics Club, and the Peer Mentor Program at the University of Akron.  I am an avid tennis player, and spend much of my free time on the court.

My Career Objectives
Like most college graduates, I plan to work for a major company upon graduation, particularly in a financial institution dealing with private equity, investment banking, or wealth management.  I have completed two internship while in college.  This past summer I interned at FirstEnergy in Akron, Ohio.  I had the opportunities to analyze risk-vs-return strategies on an assortment of capital projects in the information technology department.  Also, I have interned at a local broker-dealer.  This allowed me to gain first-hand expeirence while being engulfed in a financial atmosphere.  At the same time, I also plan on running my own business, which will also focus on some area of finance, whether it be financial planning, real estate, or another area dealing with the financial markets.

My Educational Objectives
As a double degree recipient at the undergraduate level, I am looking at possibly broadening my education by going to a masters program.  I have a multitude of options, with one of them being to continue my education in Economics through a master's program.  I am also considered earning an MBA from a prestigous business school, or focusing specifically in a Master's of Finance program.
