My name is Nick Zanko and I am a current undergraduate student at the University of Akron. I originally pursued a business degree, but it didn’t interest me and I found a real interest into economics and seeing its aspects as the “meat and potatoes” of business. Since then, my interests have grown further into my studies and sometimes all I can think of is how almost everything can be explained with economic analysis. I will be graduating at the end of spring 2014.
My Educational Objectives
As a student pursuing a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Economics at the University of Akron, I am a senior and very close to completing my curriculum and earning my degree. I look forward to being able to use my knowledge of economics not as a student, but as a professional. After I earn my degree I am done pursuing higher education, but I have a feeling that I will always find a way to learn more.
My Career Objectives
While pursuing my bachelors in economics I have not looked into internships, but I have taken time off to explore career options in finance and sales. After I finish my degree I am immediately moving to Chicago, IL. I don’t have a job waiting for me or even an interview, but I have saved enough to support me until I find a career. I am very confident in my decision to move there, because unlike Akron all I see in Chicago is opportunity in every direction. As for a career, I don’t mind starting from the bottom and hopefully it allows me to acquire forecasting position or economic/financial advising.
