I am an ROTC cadet at the University of Akron pursuing a degree in economics as well as learning Chinese. I will be commissioning as an officer in the U.S. Army in December 2015.
I plan on attaining a degree in Economics with a minor in Military Science when I graduate from college. I am currently taking Chinese as my foreign language requirement and I hope to become fluent in the language after college. When I graduate I plan on pursing a masters in financial planning and a masters in international relations. I will also spend time becoming fluent in Chinese so I can do business in China.
When I commission as a 2nd Lieutenant, I will have the chance to either go active duty Army or go into the National Guard. If I go Active duty, I will still pursue my degrees to help my career in the army. Eventually I will leave the Army to start my own organic farming business after a decade of active duty service. If I go guard, I am accepted to go into Military intelligence and will pursue a career in the CIA or NSA. I will still go to graduate school for my masters degrees and after 10-15 years of working I still want to start my organic farming business. At that point I would work on the farm until I retire.
